316 stainless steel chain

Conforming to DIN766 and EN 813-3

Manufactured mainly for use with a windlass and with the benefit of offering a rust free solution, it looks good and lasts forever!

The above chains are tested and certified a copy can be supplied FOC on request.

Hot dipped galvanised chain G30

Sizes: 6 to 28mm - usually mid or long link and suitable for many uses including ground or riser chain. A cost effective option which still retains the virtue of good quality.

G30 - 300 Newton / Square millimeter = 43,511 Pound-force per square inch

A general purpose chain of standard commercial quality.  Made from low carbon steel, this chain is frequently used for fabricating tow chains, logging chains and, when appropriate, tie down or binding chains. Hallmarked every 3 feet or less on sizes over 5/16" with manufacturer's symbol and grade marking: 3, 30 or 300. Not for overhead lifting

Hot dipped galvanised chain G40

Conforming to DIN766 and EN 813-3

This type of chain is manufactured mainly for use with a windlass. Grade 40 chain offers more strength and wear resistance than lesser grades without the problems of becoming brittle with prolonged use.

G40 - 430 Newton / Square millimeter = 62,366 Pound-force per square inch

Strength levels are the same as G43 but the dimensions of the chain links are smaller using ISO standards. Primarily used for boat windlasses, this grade has become a standard for that industry.  The chain is hallmarked "G4" on every link.  Not for overhead lifting.

If you are unsure about the correct size we will be pleased to advise, if in doubt we will supply a small sample - postage will be credited against purchase.

The above chains are tested and certified - a copy can be supplied FOC on request.

Self coloured chain G40

Sizes: 12 to 25mm - mid and long link. This range and grade is the perfect choice for moorings and has proved itself over many years with mooring contactors and industrial customers. The grade is an indication of metal hardness which is compatible to our recommended type of mooring shackle.

The reason for using mid or long link chain is because it offers the best option for attaching shackles, they should generally be one size larger than the chain.
